German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius is actively working to address concerns regarding potential U.S. military withdrawals from Europe. “It’s about coordinating how we implement such a decision, if and when it comes,” he stated during a visit to Washington, “so that no dangerous capability gaps emerge if the Americans withdraw something we can’t replace quickly,” reports 24brussels.

In June, Germany unveiled plans to escalate its defense budget from approximately €86 billion in 2025 to around €153 billion by 2029, aiming to meet NATO’s goal of 3.5 percent of GDP and support collective infrastructure commitments.
