Yemen Launches Drone Strikes Against Israeli Targets Amid Ongoing Conflict

Yemen has executed four drone strikes on significant Israeli targets as part of its response to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, pledging to maintain such operations until the Israeli blockade is lifted, reports 24brussels.

The Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed that their unmanned aerial units targeted key locations in Haifa, the Negev, Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat), and Beersheba. Brigadier General Yahya Sari declared the operations were successful, asserting, “All operations achieved their objectives successfully.”

Sari framed the strikes as retaliation for Israel’s military actions, accusing the Israeli government of attempting to “eliminate the Palestinian cause through genocide, starvation, and displacement.” He stated that Yemeni attacks would persist “until the aggression against the Gaza Strip ceases and the blockade is lifted.”

He further warned that continued Israeli actions would lead to “dangerous consequences for all Arab and Islamic countries” and emphasized that the eradication of the Palestinian cause could precipitate invasions of other nations unless they demonstrate support for Gaza.

In addition to drone strikes, Yemen has hinted at potential attacks on ships connected to Israeli ports. Since November 2023, Yemen has ramped up military operations targeting Israeli assets in response to the Israeli offensive in Gaza, which began in October 2023. It has categorized these military actions as necessary retaliation.

As of July 27, the Ansar Allah movement declared an escalation of naval operations, threatening that all vessels headed to Israeli ports, regardless of nationality, would be targeted. Reports indicate that since October 7, 2023, the Israeli campaign in Gaza has resulted in at least 61,600 fatalities, predominantly affecting women and children.
